Endometriosis is a common medical condition that affects the reproductive system of a woman. The cells usually grow inside the uterus but in this case they grow outside which is dangerous. Depending on the location of the growth many side effects may occur. In many rare cases Endometriosis can also be found in skin, lungs, the diaphragm and even the brain parts. In the later stages the Endometriosis usually develop in the pelvic cavity. This causes untreated cysts. It causes many side effects related to digestive problems, infertility, urinary problems, agonizing pains when adhesions are pulled and mobility problems. As Endometriosis develops the immune system of woman becomes impaired.

The common symptoms of this disease are pain before and during periods. There will be a pain with intercourse. Throughout the month there will be general and chronic pelvic pain. Endometriosis and Hereditary factors:
In Endometriosis disease hereditary factor plays an important role. Most of the daughters or sisters of patients are at higher risk to develop Endometriosis themselves. According to studies there is a link between Endometriosis and chromosome. On rare occasions Endometriosis may be transplanted by blood into peripheral organs. The hereditary factors allow abnormal cells to grow in the pelvic cavity, which is dangerous. This affects the other adjacent organs in the uterus. Due to Endometriosis there are chances of getting ovarian cancer also. A through evaluation of family history can identify women most likely to have a hereditary Endometriosis. This increases the risk for the disease. But it doesn't mean a woman will definitely get it. It is only a possibility. |
