Endometriosis is the diseased condition in female body of the tissues of the uterus, which grow abnormally in an altogether different part of the body. The implant of the endometrial tissues which are generally in the lining of the uterus start growing in other part of the pelvic cavity causing immense pain and other serious implications for the patient.

The main reason for this abnormality is given as the retrograde menstruation theory, which states that the menstrual flow of the female body flows back in the body due to the growth of the endometrial tissues, and the degenerated blood cannot have a natural exit since it grows in a misplaced part.

The retrograde menstrual flow also created chocolate cysts in the body. The symptoms for this disease are sever pain in the pelvic region, abnormal menstrual cramps, lower backache, painful intercourse, pain during urination, and also constipation. Endometriosis affects at least eighty nine million women all over the world and the worst thing about this disorder is that it can become the cause of infertility in women which wrecks them emotionally as well as emotionally. Researchers and scientist still have not been able to find the real reason for this disorder.

The development of endometriosis

Endometriosis develops in four different stages. The development stages are determined by the size and the percentage of the endometrial tissues found in the locations. In some patient it so happens that they do not experience pain and diagnosed with an advance stage of endometriosis, endometriosis is unpredictable and affects every individual indifferent ways. The development stages for endometriosis have been developed by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (formerly the American Fertility Society). In the first stage of development of endometriosis the severity level is minimum, in the second stage it is mild, in the third stage the severity level is moderate and in the fourth stage the severity level of the growth of the endometrial is severe. The treatment for the disease also depends on the stages of the disease.

Factors on which the stages are decided

There are different factors that taken into consideration while determining the stage of the stage, these factors include the location, the percentage of growth, and the size of the misplaced tissues. There are more specific factors in determining the stage of the disease. It is also important to keep in mind that there is no relation between the stages of the disease and the pain one might feel.
