Endometriosis is a chronic disease which is painful that affects ten to fifteen percent of women in fertility age. The main cause of this disease is that the tissues that should be inside uterus are found on the organs outside the uterus. The organs where these tissues are found are ovaries, fallopian tubes, between the area of vagina and rectum and on the ligament that support the uterus. The tissues are not at the right place and they also respond the menstrual cycle in the same manner as uterine cycle do. This disease results in internal bleeding and inflammation. It causes lot of problems such as pain, infertility, scars and many other problems.
Symptoms of endometriosis
There are many common symptoms of endometriosis. The pain that a woman experience does not depend on the level of the problem. Some women with fewer problems can feel greater pain as compared to those with more problems. Woman experience pain during and after intercourse. Pain can be felt before and during periods.
